The GRID IRON panel “shape” is made of specially formulated 24 gauge cold rolled steel. The shape is roll formed into horizontal channels that are one inch on center and approximately ¼” thick. The raw shape is manufactured in six inch high strips. These strips are cut to exact lengths and assembled together to create a panel. The back of the panel consists of a welded frame manufactured of one inch square 18 gauge steel tube and reinforced with ¾ inch steel stiffeners (U channels) placed vertically at twelve inches on center and spotwelded every inch.

GRID IRON’s Metal Shelf (24” x 9”) and Shelf Bracket (48”) are heavy-duty 6063-T5 aluminum extrusions that are cut-to-length, radiused and polished. The Metal Tray (16” x 7”) is made of 18 gauge cold rolled steel, blanked and sides formed up in a progressive die mounted in a high capacity press. The Book Rack is also fabricated from 18 gauge steel. The Deep Top Shelf (48” x 22”) is manufactured from industrial grade MDF, laminated on all four sides.

All GRID IRON metal components receive an attractive, durable, high-quality powder coat finish to assure that your garage storage system looks like a kitchen appliance but lasts even longer.
